This Thursday May 29th Pop The Grapes will screen poolside at the Standard Hotel Hollywood as part of NewFilmmaker’s LA Screening Series Short Shorts. 8pm screening will be followed by a moderated Q & A by Campbell Perkinson. Come join if you’re in town!

Very excited about the Toronto International Film Festival this year! I was awarded with the Irving Avrich Award for Emerging Filmmaker at TIFF 2013. After that I’m off to the Atlantic Film Fest then LA’s NewFilmmakers Festival. Should be a busy September with Pop The Grapes!

This past Saturday at Octavia’s Breakthroughs Film Festival, The Artists picked up the festival award for best film. Quite a pleasant surprise and a lovely evening with many talented filmmakers.

Focusing strictly on young emerging female filmmakers, the festival will be screening a series of Canadian short films. June 23rd 7:30-11:00 PM @ The Projection Booth in Toronto’s Leslieville.

After much laziness (and projector issues), I have finally finished transferring my South American travel footage. Shot on Kodak Ektachrome Super 8mm film, the sequence consists of images taken from Peru, Bolivia, Chile and Argentina.

Ivadelle at it again. After a year off the festival circuit, Ivadelle was cordially invited to play Italy’s MoliseCinema International Film Festival. The festival runs from August 2nd to the 7th, so if you find yourself in Molise, Italy please check it out!

A few weeks ago I was given the opportunity to produce a part of Red Bull’s Pirate Break series. Working with BCA, we put together this little stunt at Yonge and Dundas during busy afternoon rush hour. Yesterday on my drive back from the RiverRun International Film Festival I was surprised with the news that Ivadelle had won Best Narrative Short at the awards ceremony that night. Screening four times at the festival, Ivadelle was very well received and is mentioned in today’s Winston-Salem news. This past week Ivadelle was selected as part of the River Run International Film Festival. The event takes place April 15th-25th, so if you’re in the area come check out the festivities and say hello. Screening times should be posted by the 16th of March.

Good news arrived yesterday as Ivadelle was accepted into Barcelona’s 16th Independant Film Festival L’Alternativa. The runs between the 13th and 21st of November at the Centre for Contemporary Culture of Barcelona.

Good news! After a slew of film festival submissions Ivadelle is officially selected as part of the Montreal World Film Festival lineup. The event takes place from August 27th to September 7th. If you’re in the area come check it out!
Nicole Dorsey is a director of films; both commercial and narrative.
With a penchant for naturalism, her work often embodies a documentarian’s objectivity and aims to present a realist portrayal of the human condition.
She currently lives in Toronto.
